Al Tayer rules out increase in Dewa tariffs

Dubai Electricty and Water Authority will not increase tariffs, said its top official.
 
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dewa, said the Authority does not intend to increase the usage cost of water and electricity consumption and that the fixed prices will not change, reported ' Emarat Al Youm'.

Dubai's energy infrastructure can efficiently meet the demands of its residents for at least five years.

Speaking during the opening of the Arab Oil and Gas Exhibition, he said:"Last year there was an increase in cost of water and electricity consumption and, therefore, no increase should be expected now."

Next month, Dewa is scheduled to announce a project on renewable energy generation.
