Solar chargers coming soon for your mobile phones

Solar powered mobile phone charger kiosk, solar lantern with mobile chargers, solar candles with mobile chargers and other mobile charging units displayed at the Solar Middle East exhibition is a major attractionat the Dubai World Trade Centre.

While mobile manufacturers are planning to bring out self-charging mobile phones, the solar powered mobile chargers offer a solution to the issue of charging mobile phones.

Solarway TM, a South African company, who have their offices in Jebel Ali displayed many innovative solar solutions for empowering mobile phones, even when users are stranded in remote locations without any power supply.

Mobile phones are now the most important pieces of hardware that are becoming an integral part of modern life. In some remote places, especially in rural areas, where there is no power connection, users tend to keep their mobile phones in switched off mode as they are powerless to charge their mobile phones. In such a situation, a solar powered mobile charging station can be useful."

While mobile phone manufacturers and users have been worried about the durability of the power source, some companies are planning to use the mobile phone screens as solar chargers. Solarway, a solar powered mobile phone charger kiosk is a solution in such situations.

The solar mobile charging kiosk work by using solar energy and enable mobile phone charging. Some of the iPhone solar chargers, sold online for $25, can be kept anywhere with sunshine exposure and lock-in facility will ensure it is not stolen.

“For Mobile Network Operators we have a wide range of solar powered mobile charging products such as charging kiosks, manual mobile charging stations, portable mobile charges which can all be branded with your company logo and colours. This gives them an opportunity to provide a reliable power source in the communities companies sell their products and services were there is a lack of power. It will also give an incentive to tie in mobile subscribers,” the company spokesperson said.

A solar mobile charger from Solarway promises to provide a sustainable power solution for mobile phone users. Up to 600 charge cycles, 10 hours charging time in direct sunlight/60,000 lux with battery checker indicator.

“This Solar Mobile charger has been designed to charge mobile phones with optimum results. An integrated battery checker allows the user to know when the solar charger is fully charged. Advanced circuitry and battery design ensures a maximum transfer of power generated to the phone, so optimum results are achieved.  The battery technology allows the product to operate efficiently and safely in temperatures in excess of 60 degrees.

A Sunstorm charger is a reliable power source giving the user increased talk time and network access. It will charge all types of mobile phones 100 per cent but smart phones can be charged up to 40 per cent only. It can also be used with other power sources and the mobile battery will be charged within two hours. Electricity is generated in the mobile charger using a 0.5 W, Dimensions: 50 x 68 mm Polycrystalline panel.
