Dubai: flydubai celebrated the launch of its daily flights to Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, making the Thai capital its second destination in Thailand after Krabi. The airline’s inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, offering passengers more options to reach one of Southeast Asia’s most popular destinations. The inaugural flight landed earlier on Wednesday to a traditional water cannon salute from airport officials.

The launch of flights to Bangkok not only complements flydubai’s direct service to Krabi, but also represents another significant step in the expansion of the airline’s network, confirming its commitment to meeting growing demand for travel between the UAE and Thailand, and providing travellers from Dubai with greater flexibility to explore Bangkok’s renowned attractions.

Thailand remains a major destination for both leisure and business travel, and our direct flights to Don Mueang International Airport provide a new gateway to the Thai capital. This will benefit our customers, facilitate trade and tourism, and enhance Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.”

Thapani Kiatphaipol, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said: “The Middle East and the UAE are among the most important long-haul travel markets for Thailand, attracting high-spending and high-value tourists. Thailand welcomed 188,447 visitors from the region between January and 21 June 2026. The launch of flydubai’s first flight between Dubai International Airport and Don Mueang Airport comes at a crucial time, as it contributes to enhancing air connectivity.”
