Iraq seeks Egyptian investors for two industrial cities

Iraq is seeking Egyptian investors to build two industrial cities as part of plans to construct such projects with the help of other countries, an Iraqi news network reported on Monday.

Shafaq News said Iraqi industry and minerals minister Mohammed Al Daraji discussed the plan for the two cities at talks in Egypt on Sunday.

“Iraq is planning to industries cities in cooperation with some countries. These include two Egyptian cities,” the minister said.

Shafaq quoted him as saying he would meet more Egyptian industrialists during the visit to discuss their contribution to the two projects.

The agency also quoted Abdul Aziz Saifuddin, chairman of the Cairo-based Arab Industrialisation Organisation, as saying :”We are seriously considering contributing to the construction of two industrial cities in Iraq and allow it to benefit from our expertise.”
