The Ministry of Finance on Sunday denied reports claiming that the State of Kuwait had borrowed $55 billion from domestic and external markets.
These reports are totally false and baseless, the ministry said in a statement, carried by Kuwait's state news agency, Kuna.
It added that it was crafting a plan and allotting funds for public debt bonds for the year, according to its strategy and developments in the oil market.
It called on the media to avoid publicising inaccurate reports that are detrimental to the national economy and Kuwait’s image.
