Dubai: Parkin PJSC, the largest provider of regulated public parking facilities and services in Dubai, announced the signing of a five-year framework agreement with the Al-Futtaim Group to manage and regulate vehicle parking. This step aims to establish new standards for parking management and regulation across the group’s premium retail and commercial destinations in Dubai.
Under the agreement, Parkin will oversee and manage monitoring operations for parking spaces designated for people of determination at Dubai Festival City Mall, Festival Plaza, and Arabian Center. The initiative covers 61 designated parking spaces at Dubai Festival City Mall, 30 spaces at Festival Plaza, and 16 spaces at Arabian Center.
In its initial phase, the partnership will focus on enhancing compliance levels and ensuring the proper use of parking spaces designated for people of determination at these locations. The partnership forms part of Parkin’s ongoing expansion into the private sector, strengthening its regulatory and monitoring services at premium commercial and retail destinations across Dubai.
As part of the agreement, Parkin will manage monitoring operations across all sites, including verification and issuance of violations in people of determination parking spaces, handling customer feedback, and resolving disputes with high flexibility. This approach is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of shopping centres. The company will also leverage data and insights derived from on-ground operations to improve compliance levels and support continuous enhancement of the overall parking experience for customers.
The agreement will rely on Parkin’s advanced parking systems, including the integration of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, enabling accurate, real-time vehicle monitoring and efficient enforcement. Parkin will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining the systems at the sites to ensure reliable performance through the implementation of necessary preventive and corrective measures.
In this context, Engineer Abdulrahman Al Shuwaikhi, Director of Operations at Parkin, said: “Our partnership with the Al-Futtaim Group reflects Parkin’s commitment to integrating operational excellence in the retail sector with the latest advanced monitoring technologies to deliver an exceptional customer experience. By implementing Automatic Number Plate Recognition technologies and streamlining supervisory procedures, we aim to provide a transparent and effective environment that enriches the experience of visitors to Al-Futtaim destinations and supports the smooth flow of mobility across the wider Dubai community.”
For his part, Haitham Hajjar, Director of Asset Management at Al-Futtaim Real Estate, said: “Enhancing operational efficiency and improving the customer experience remain at the forefront of our key priorities across all our commercial destinations. Parking is a fundamental part of the visitor journey, as it directly affects ease of access and the overall quality of the experience. Through our collaboration with Parkin, we are delivering a more seamless, technology-enabled experience that enhances the way our customers interact with our destinations.”
This partnership strengthens Parkin’s presence in the private sector, supports the growth of its managed parking portfolio, and reinforces its role as a leading national partner in the development of smart mobility solutions, in line with Dubai’s ambitions to build smart and sustainable infrastructure that serves both the business sector and the wider community.
