Saudi Arabia buys 345,000 tonnes of hard wheat

Saudi Arabia bought 345,000 tonnes of hard wheat (12.5 per cent protein minimum) for delivery between February-March 2015, its Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organisation (GSFMO) said on Monday.

The shipment will be in six consignments, 175,000 tonnes to Jeddah port and 170,000 tonnes to Dammam port, Waleed el-Khereiji, Director General of the GSFMO, said.

The origins are European Union, North and South America and Australia at the seller's option.

Jeddah Port:


- 60,000 tonnes hard wheat from Glencore at $276.68 a tonne cost and freight (C&F) for shipment Feb. 10-20

- 60,000 tonnes hard wheat from Louis Dreyfus at $275.94 a tonne c&f for shipment March 1-10

- 55,000 tonnes hard wheat from Noble at $283.45 a tonne c&f for shipment March 20-30

Dammam Port:

- 55,000 tonnes of hard wheat from Noble at $292 a tonne c&f for shipment Feb. 10-20

- 55,000 tonnes hard wheat from Noble at $290.95 a tonne c&f for shipment March 1-10

- 60,000 tonnes hard wheat from Louis Dreyfus at $287.34 a tonne c&f for shipment March 20-30
