UAE telecom operator Etisalat has announced the launch of the 4G-enabled Nexus 9 LTE by Google, the world’s first Android 5.0 Lollipop tablet.

The device is now available to customers on dedicated post-paid and prepaid plans across all of the operator’s business centres and key retail outlets in the country.

Nexus 9 has a 8.9" screen (1536 x 2048 resolution), with 8MP main camera and 1.6MP front facing, and is powered by powerful 64-bit processor and dedicated BoomSound speakers to allow users to experience the best on their tablet when it comes to work or play.

Etisalat said that its post-paid customers can get their hands on a ‘free’ Nexus 9 tablet with a minimum 1GB data allowance starting Dh200 per month. Customer can choose to upgrade their data plan with extra Dh100 or Dh200 per month for 5GB or 10GB, respectively, it noted.

Prepaid customers can get a contract-free tablet-data bundle on an upfront payment basis with 1GB free data for the first month and AED99 per month thereafter.

“Introducing specially designed tablet data bundles falls in line with Etisalat’s commitment to expand its device and mobile data portfolio to meet the growing demand of its customers in the UAE,” said Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat.

“Nexus 9 by Google is an innovative device that will cater to the needs of the most demanding and tech-savvy customers, thanks to its powerful hardware and newest Android operating system, which is not available yet on any other tablet in the market,” he said.
