The UAE telecom operator du late on Tuesday said that the repair work on the damaged submarine cable is underway and by its partners and may take longer time to accomplish the full scope.
“As per the latest available information from the three affected submarine cable operators – EIG, FEA and Falcon, repair work is currently underway in full swing and may take a longer timeframe to accomplish the full scope of the required work,” the telecom operator said.
On Sunday, du had announced that its customers could experience slower broadband speed due to problem with the submarine cables.
“We have proactively rerouted traffic through alternative paths and new cable paths are being added as needed to ensure a seamless browsing and connectivity experience for our customers,” it said.
The company claimed that it’s working hand-in-hand with partners around the clock to resolve the situation.
