Got an innovative idea? Samsung Gulf will reward GCC residents

Samsung Gulf Electronics on Monday announced “Launching People” in Dubai whereby anyone with a valid Facebook account can submit an innovative idea.

YS Kim, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, launched the project in Dubai on Monday. Entries are open from anyone residing in the GCC countries except Saudi Arabia.

The ideas can belong to four categories - Startup, Fashion, Invention and Education.

Samsung has tied up with four mentors - in each category – who would help the final applicants.

The four mentors are Fadi Malas, CEO of Just Falafel; Reema Al Banna, designer and founder of Reemani; Mohammad Saeed Harib, creator of Freej and Dino Varkey, Group COO of Gems Education.

The four will identify and select two entries each for the four categories which will then be put up for public voting. Anybody with a Facebook account can cast one vote for one entry in each category on any given day.

Samsung said it will fund $35,000 for the winners.
