iPhone 7 Alert: Gold Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge are here
London-based gift and specialist gold-plating company Goldgenie has launched the new Samsung S7 and S7 edge smartphones in gold, with prices starting at a cool Dh11,000 (£2,097).
The company promises free shipping to Dubai and the rest of the UAE, and says that it is already putting finishing touches to its first physical retail presence in the country.
"We will be launching our first retail store at the brand new UAE iMall in April where we will be showcasing some of our products including the 24k Gold racing bike, the gold Segwheel together with some amazing unusual gifts that are unique to Goldgenie," a Goldgenie spokesperson told Emirates 24|7.
"Our skilled and talented artisans are taking on the challenge of using their honed skills to embellish the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge," the spokesperson said.
The market leading Samsung S7 devices within the Galaxy range are perfect for creating the highest quality mobile video, photography and gaming, the firm said.
Goldgenie will offer the embellished version of Samsung Galaxy S7 edge starting Dh12,000 (£2,297).
Since gaining exposure on Dragons' Den and investment from multi-millionaire James Caan, Goldgenie has attracted several A-list celebrities such as Will Smith, the Beckhams, Roman Abramovich and P Diddy, to name a few.
The firm is also offering its gold-plating service to customers who already own Samsung devices.
Emirates 24|7 was first to report last week that the UK-based-luxury customising firm Truly Exquisite will be offering the new Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 edge in a 24K gold finish besides having plans to launch a special edition one specifically for the UAE market.
"This is just the basic version of the plated phones with plans to have special edition ones specifically for the UAE market very soon," Kunal Patel, owner and CEO of Truly Exquisite, told Emirates 24|7.
Truly Exquisite's gold-plated Galaxy s7 will retail from £1,700 (Dh8,653), it says, and promises to dispatch the phones 21 days after the official release date by Samsung.
In the UAE, both UAE telecom operators are offering freebies on the regular versions of the new Samsung flagship models.
The new Samsung devices will be available starting this Saturday (March 12), and prices of the regular Galaxy S7 start at Dh2,399 while that of the regular S7 edge start at Dh2,799.
In the GCC, Samsung Gulf will pre-load both the devices with the Galaxy Entertainer application, which will present its customers with more than 1,000 'buy 1 get 1 free' offers - for free.
Those who pre-ordered the devices with Samsung's official distributors before the end of February will also receive a free Gear VR with their purchase.
