iWatch puts iStop to iPad: May call time on Apple's 12.9-inch tablet

Will there be no new iPad releases this year? Well, according to latest reports quoting analysts, Apple may not release the rumoured bigger-sized 12.9-inch iPad nor will there be a successor to the iPad mini in 2014.

There were speculations that Apple was working on a 12.9 inch iPad that could combine the features of an iPad and a Mac Book Air. Similarly, it was expected that the company could unveil the iPad Pro this year. However, new reports say it may not happen.

Tech Blog Apple Insider quoting a report by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple is still working on the larger-sized iPad Pro and the model will not be ready for release this year.

That leaves us with an slightly improvised iPad Air, that will be equipped with a Touch ID.

The report also says Apple is busy working on the new iWatch slated to be released this year.

Terming the chances of a new improvised iPad mini as slim, the forecast says the sales of  both the iPad Air and iPad mini will slow down during the latter half of the year.

Meanwhile, Samsung has already launched the Galaxy 12.2 inch Note Pro and the Tab pro.

Launched at the CES in January this year, the Samsung devices run on Android KitKat and come with WQXGA Widescreen 16:10 display, offering resolutions of 2560x1600 with more than 4 million pixels.

The devices are powered by the 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 8 MP rear camera and a more powerful 9,500mAh battery.
