LG Electronics is an aggressive path and it is no secret that it wants to dominate the smart TV industry.
The company which was the first to introduce the curved OLED TV screen today achieved yet another feat. It has unveiled its first 100 plus inch curved TV. In the curved segment LG will also come out with 49, 55 and 65 inch models.
As part of its 2014 releases LG says it would bring outa total of 68 new models starting from 49” televisions.
LG that its new models would run on the webOS Smart TV platform which it purchased from Hewlett-Packard in March last year and modified and reintroduced it as LG’s new Smart TV platform.
It was showcased at the CES earlier in January. LG had then said that the new OS would be implemented in more than 70 percent of LG’s Smart TVs in 2014.
The OS s known for its ease-of-use feature that makes content searching and connectivity to other smart devices a much more easier task.
Hyun-hwoi Ha, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company said 2014 could be a defining year for LG withtin the smart TV segment. “With our strong competitiveness in display technology including ULTRA IPS, CINEMA 3D and the unrivalled simplicity of the webOS Smart TV platform, we are optimistic that in 2014, LG will be the one to watch in the TV industry.”
LG says its 4K quality is thanks to the Ultra HD Engine Pro which offers the processing power of 3840 x 2160 resolution.
LG has also joined hands with Harman Kardon to enhance its sound system.
