UAE banks ensure smooth transfers during Eid Al Adha holiday
Central Bank keeps transfer systems running and urges customers to use digital services

Dubai: The Central Bank has directed banks operating in the UAE to facilitate customer transfers during the Eid Al Adha holiday, ensuring uninterrupted banking services throughout the period.
According to the Central Bank, the local financial transfer system will remain operational during the holiday to support customer transactions. However, systems such as direct debit and cheque clearing will resume normal operations with the return of bank working hours from May 30.
Banks across the country have stepped up preparations to maintain smooth operations, in coordination with the Central Bank and the UAE Banks Federation, aiming to deliver a seamless and secure banking experience.
The sector has enhanced its technical and operational readiness by ensuring that digital banking platforms, electronic services and ATMs remain available around the clock, supported by strengthened customer service and technical teams.
The Central Bank confirmed it is closely monitoring payment systems, transfer networks and banking infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted transactions, particularly during a period marked by increased spending and transfers.
Banks have also urged customers to rely on digital channels and smart services to carry out transfers, pay bills and complete daily transactions easily and securely, while ensuring sufficient cash availability in ATMs nationwide.
This coordinated effort highlights the UAE’s commitment to maintaining a resilient and efficient financial system, especially during peak holiday periods.
