It won’t be long until you can buy tickets for Dubai’s first mega theme park, including Legoland, the Hollywood-inspired Motiongate and the world's first Bollywood-inspired park.
You’ve been framed!
You can admire Dubai Frame in Zabeel Park from almost anywhere in the city. This towering tourist attraction resembles a huge picture frame and has a panoramic elevator leading to a sky-high glass walkway. Views at the top are off limits until it opens later this year.
Heavy lifting
If you have a thirst for something completely different, look out for the giant model crane holding a teabag on Sheikh Zayed Road. Designed to build support for Lipton’s Extra Strong tea, this construction site is a sign that something good is brewing in the city.

Before the iconic Dubai Opera House opens in August, you can admire its dhow-inspired design from the foot of the Burj Khalifa. This 2,000-seat concert hall is the centrepiece of your new cultural district in Downtown Dubai.

Even in this city of superlatives, you have to admit that the giant legs of the Dubai Eye are a remarkable sight. The 210m high Ferris wheel, set to be the world’s tallest, is gradually being lifted into place on Bluewaters Island. From 2018, you’ll be able to ride a cable car or monorail to this entertainment hub and check out the hotels, shops and leisure attractions.
