The Ministry of Environment and Water has announced it is close to issue bylaws of organic agriculture in the UAE to regulate organic farms in the UAE as per the federal law number five of year 2009.
The ministry has addressed all municipalities and competent local authorities on a proposal to locate a day weekly for marketing local organic products and setting up a unified permanent fair. The ministry currently supervises over 35 registered farms. It encourages farmers to expand in the organic agriculture and reduce use of pesticides and chemical fertilisers.
