2 women in Saudi with drugs in belly

Saudi airport customs inspectors arrested two women trying to smuggle more than two kg of cocaine in their stomachs, a newspaper said on Monday.

The inspectors at the airport in the Western Red Sea town of Jeddah decided to have one woman scanned after suspecting she was transporting illegal items.

Scanning showed she was hiding 89 capsules containing around 1.2kg of cocaine, the Arabic language daily ‘Ajel’ said.

A woman aboard another flight on the same day was also caught hiding 1.1kg of cocaine in her stomach, the paper said without identifying the two.
