Cupid thief caught with women’s jewellery

Colombo: A man who followed women during the day, broke into their homes at night and stole their jewellery and other valuables.

He has been arrested by Galenbindunuwewa police after they received several complaints from women saying they were stalked by the suspect and that he behaved indecently.

Police had also received several complaints of night thefts from the neighbourhood.

Investigations revealed there was a connection between the two complaints and police set a trap to nab the suspect, famously called ‘Cupid Thief’.

He was caught red-handed while fleeing from a woman’s house after stealing.

About [Sri Lankan] Rs. 65,000 in cash, apart from jewellery and mobile phones were confiscated from his possession.
