19 stolen car batteries found in taxi

Sharjah Police has arrested three Bangladeshis suspected of stealing car batteries from the emirate’s Industrial Area 4.

The emirate’s Industrial Area Police Station had received a number of complaints from car owners about theft of batteries.

19 batteries and tools used to steal them were found hidden in a taxi driven by a member of the gang.

Colonel Jihad Sahoo, director of criminal investigation, urged owners of vehicle workshops and shops selling second-hand vehicles to check their vehicles, particularly those parked in their courtyards, for theft of batteries.
