2 acquitted of assaulting compatriot

An Iranian fugitive and his compatriot who were accused of assaulting the former’s ex-brother-in law and caused him 5 per cent permanent disability, won acquittal from the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

According to the records, on April 4, 2014, RA, fugitive, and his jobless compatriot KL, 45, assaulted his sister’s ex-husband HH, 38, businessman.

“The two assaulted me in a parking lot in Dubai Marina,” HH told the police.

The victim sustained fractures in the skull and the back and chest bones.

Records did not mention the reason for the assault.

RA fled the country after the assault while his friend KL was arrested and referred to the court.
