34 booked for reckless driving and car modifications in Sharjah

Sharjah Police confiscated 34 vehicles for reckless driving, according to a top police official.

Colonel Ahmed bin Darwish, Acting Director, Traffic and Patrol Department, said these drivers were performing stunts on roads and flouting traffic rules.

Among the confiscated vehicles, there were cars with engines modified to make loud noise.

The confiscation took place during a campaign by Sharjah Police to make public aware of safe driving measures and the importance of abiding by traffic rules.

Modifying cars and performing stunts not only pose risks to motorists but also to other road users, said Col. Darwish.

Loud noises cause disturbances to residents and public in general, he said and added that Sharjah Police will not tolerate any such reckless acts on roads.
