71 pills with 0.5kg heroin found in visitor's stomach

An Afghan visitor to the UAE has admitted to swallowing 71 pills that contained more than a half a kilo of heroin.

MB, 20, arrived at Dubai International Airport on March 2 at around 11pm coming from Afghanistan.

A custom inspector who suspected him searched him and his luggage but did not find anything.

However, subjecting him to X-ray scan, strange substances were observed in his digestive organ.

When questioned, MB admitted to swallowing 71 tablets that contained drugs.

Police found out that there was 583.12gms of heroin in the tablets.

The court will give its sentence on June 15.
