Air tickets bought, sold with stolen bank card
Two Pakistanis allegedly used a stolen bank card to buy an air ticket to Canada that they sold to a person by advertising on dubizzle.com , the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
AYM, 34, businessman, and MAT, 27, employee, possessed a stolen card of an Australian bank. They advertised on dubizzle. com about selling air tickets to any destination in the world at heavily discounted prices.
SBR, 52, British, engineer read the advertisement and called the given number. MAT answered the call and offered an air ticket to Canada for Dh5,200 on Emirates airline.
“I agreed on the price and so I sent a copy of my passport to MAT’s email address as per his request. Later I was supplied with the air ticket,” testified the victim.
Emirates airline received a letter from the bank saying the card used to buy the air ticket was stolen from its holder.
Security officer MS, 35, Indian, testified: “I called the number on the air ticket and it was of the passenger SBR who said he had purchased the air ticket via dubizzle.com and gave the mobile phone number of the advertiser MAT. On checking, I found out that a similar complaint had been lodged with the carrier against MAT.”
The Court will give its verdict on July 9.
