Asian accused of raping teen daughter in RAK

An Asian father in Ras Al khaimah is still facing charges of raping his 16-year-old daughter although he denied the charge and a medical report supported his claim.

The girl had earlier told court her father raped her twice in their home country and in RAK, prompting the court to sentence him to 25 years in prison.

But he appealed the verdict, saying he has never touched his daughter and asking the appeals court on Wednesday to give him some time to prove his innocence.

“The father asked court to give him time so he will bring proof that he has not raped his daughter, who insisted that he raped her in their home country and in RAK in January,” the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum said without identifying the family.
