Asian drug dealer jailed 11 years in Dibba Al Hisn

A court in Dibba Al Hisn sentenced a Pakistani man to 11 years in prison and fined him Dh50,000 after he was convicted of trying to smuggle drugs into the UAE.

The court also ordered his deportation from the country on charges of trying to smuggle drug pills and taking drugs while trying to enter Sharjah emirate through a border point with Oman, newspapers said.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the man on arrival and a search of his baggage resulted in the discovery of a large quantity of drug pills.
