A Pakistani who tried to fly to Brazil using a forged Moroccan passport was arrested at Dubai International Airport.

The accused was stopped at the boarding gate because he did not have a visa for Brazil, the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance,  heard.

MS, 28, was given a three-month jail term after which he will be deported.

On inspection it was found that he was going to use a fake Moroccan passport with forged Dubai International Airport stamps, both of which were hidden in his underwear.

MS, 28, told investigators that he was desperate to seek a better life in Brazil.

“I headed to a travel and tourist company in my country to find out how I can do that.

“I met a man called Salim in the company. Salim told me that he would arrange for a forged Moroccan passport for 700,000 Pakistani Rupees,” he told the court.

He was asked by Salim to travel to Dubai where a person would hand him the forged passport.

“I travelled on November 15 and stayed for six days after which Salim asked me to head to the airport where a man would hand me the passport,” MS said.

At airport Gate No. 3 a man handed MS the forged Moroccan passport.

“Salim called me from Pakistani to be sure that I got the passport. Salim asked me to finish all departure formalities using my Pakistani passport and to hide the Moroccan passport in my underwear until reaching Brazil. “He told me that once I arrive there I should use the Moroccan passport,” he told investigators.

The flight security officer referred MS to the Passport Control Officer who asked him how he is travelling to Brazil without holding a visa.

MS willingly admitted that he was planning to enter Brazil using a Moroccan passport. He also revealed that he is hiding it in his underwear.
