Asian stripped, tortured and filmed... gang jailed

In an act of revenge, 12 Asian men locked up a compatriot, stripped him naked, tortured him and filmed the actions before dumping him on the street.

According to records, the 25-year-old victim was fooled into meeting the group in one of their homes. The moment he entered, they locked the door and began assaulting him. They allegedly hit him with a big stick and bottle. They burnt his hair, shaved his beard and forced him to drink sewage water. They also stripped him and burnt him with cigarette butts and filmed the acts, before dumping him in a residential area.

The Ajman Criminal Court sentenced the 12 men to prison terms between one month and one year. All of them will be deported after serving their respective terms. They have been charged with kidnap, assault and filming the incident, reported 'Emarat Al Youm'.

The accused, meanwhile, told the court that they were taking revenge because the victim had caused them several problems in their native country.

The Criminal Court of Ras Al Khaimah sentenced a man to five years in jail for detaining a girl at his home and attempting to rape her.

According to a report in 'Al Ittihad', the girl defended his assault and advances at his home in Ras Al Khaimah and managed to escape one night. Seeing her stand alone on the street, Ras Al Khaimah Police Patrol approached her. Upon enquiry, she said that she managed to escape from her boyfriend's house because tried to assault and rape her.

The police arrested the accused, who initially denied the accusations. However, finally he admitted to have attempted to have sexual relations with her but that she rejected his advances and managed to escape.

Investigations reveal that the Arab girl knew the defendant for a few months and they decided to meet at his home.

The police referred the case to the public prosecution where he was charged with deceiving and detaining the girl and trying to rape her.

The public prosecution had demanded the execution of the accused under Article 354 of the Penal Code.

The accused has no identification card.
 

Dead man found on RAK beach

A man taking a morning walk near a beach in Ras Al khaimah stumbled across a dead body and police said they still do not know what had caused the man’s death, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The body of the 34-year-old man, who had no ID papers, was found at Muairid beach in the northern emirate on Monday morning.

Police said the body has light bruises and that it has been taken to the coroner for examination.

“The body will undergo forensic examination to determine whether it was a normal death or if it was caused by criminal act,” Alittihad daily said, quoting Colonel Salim Al Zaabi, head of the Maamoura police station in RAK.
