Boy drives without licence… dad fined Dh20,000

A judge in Ras Al Khaimah sent a strong message to parents letting their sons drive without licence when he decided to fine an Arab father Dh20,000 for committing such an offence.

RAK police seized the teen age boy driving his father’s car without having a driving licence while the car plate numbers did not belong to the vehicle.

The judge, Mohammed bin Miftah Al Khatri, ordered the release of the boy and handing him over to his father.

“He also fined the father Dh20,000 for allowing his son to drive his car without a licence and changing the car plates,” Alkhaleej daily said.
