Car burglars targeted electronic devices

Two Nigerian visitors allegedly broke into a car and stole its computer and speed fixing device, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

RK, 45, Indian driver, testified that he parked his employer’s car, a Toyota 2005 model, in Qusais area at around 6pm on April 18. On April 22 at 7am he noticed that the rear glass of the car was broken.

“I found out that the car’s computer and speed fixing device, which were below the driver’s seat, were stolen, so the incident was reported to the police,” he testified.

Investigating the complaint, police reached SA, 36, Nigerian who admitted to committing a number of similar thefts in Dubai, accompanied by his compatriot AF, 28.

SA admitted to roaming around on a bicycle to target vehicle which SA broke into and stealing devices that they export overseas.

AF is serving a jail sentence awarded to him by Sharjah Court.

The Court will reconvene on January 26.
