Carpenters cut off man's thumb with saw

Two Asian carpenters used an electric saw to cut off the thumb of their work mate during a fight at a carpentry workshop in Abu Dhabi.

The two attacked the Asian man, who is the brother of the carpentry owner, after a heated argument at the work place.

In court, the plaintiff insisted on punishment of the two and on getting damages although the defendants apologised and asked him to pardon them.

Newspapers said the court adjourned hearings pending the result of medical examination of the plaintiff.
