Chinese drowns in UAQ hotel pool

A Chinese man died after drowning at a swimming pool in a hotel in Umm Al Quwain, while he was with his family and friends there for a dive after midnight.

Police said the 25-year-old man was dead when he was removed from the pool by police divers in the emirate.

“He was swimming with his family and friends just after midnight on Saturday. They said they did not notice that he had drowned,” the semi-official daily ‘Al Ittihad’ said, quoting Lt Ahmed Rashid Al Gawi, CID director, UAQ Police.
