Cleaner arrested for stealing Dh24,000

Sharjah Police has arrested a Sri Lankan cleaner and charged him with stealing about Dh24,000 from an office.

According to the police, the arrested man stole the money from an Emirates Post office in Sharjah’s Industrial Zone No.6.

After receiving report of theft, police reached the scene for investigations. An unknown person had entered through the back door of the office.

Police suspected a worker of a cleaning company and arrested him.

The accused has confessed to the crime and said he was planning to leave the UAE for home.
