Two Pakistanis were arrested at a bus stop in Dubai’s Umm Suqeim area, carrying a bag that contained masks, gloves and tools near a clinic that they had burgled the night before.

After a veterinary clinic reported a theft and footage of camera inside the clinic showed one man breaking into the cash box, police investigated the complaint and suspected two Pakistanis who were standing at a bus stop as one of them looked like the one in the footage.

“I approached them and asked them for their IDs. They answered that they don’t have any. Asking them about the contents of the bag, they looked scared and confused and answered that it contained personal stuff. We opened it and found masks, gloves and a collection of screw drivers,” testified First Lieutenant Hamad Obaid.

Police arrested JB, 48, and EB, 38, and searching their accommodation police confiscated laptops, cameras and dresses related to other theft complaints. The two admitted committing this theft saying that JB climbed the clinic’s fence, broke a rear window and smashed the cash box and stole Dh1,000 while EB was watching the area outside.

They told the police that they were not planning to burgle the clinic but decided on it while they were passing by.

Criminal Evidences reported that evidence of breaking the cashier’s drawer matched one of the tools that were confiscated with them.

The Court will give its verdict on January 9.
