Cop confesses to secret video of housewife
A policeman and his soldier brother allegedly made a video of a woman secretly in her house and then blackmailed her asking for $1 million or they will publish the recording, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
SAS, 30, Corporal, Emirati, is accused with an unidentified person of verbally threatening the wife of a bank owner of publishing the video recording of her if she fails to pay them $1 million.
SAS is also accused of violating others’ privacy as he shot the woman, ‘M’, in her house without her knowledge.
His brother NAS, 23, soldier, and an Egyptian identified as MMB, 29 investor, are accused of criminal complicity in invading others’ privacy and blackmailing the victim.
The three are accused of entering the house of the victim at night against the will of the owner to commit the crime.
According to the records, SAS had worked in one of the companies of the bank’s owner and as he is going through financial difficulties he took his mother and visited the wife of his former boss seeking for help.
After his request was refused, he decided to blackmail the family of his boss by making video of his wife.
However, SAS left his mobile number with the guard telling him to ask his boss to call him.
The guard gave the number to ‘M’ who asked her husband’s assistant to contact the man and find out what does he want after telling her that SAS came to her house accompanied with a woman covered from head to toe who he claimed is his mother and asked for money. SAS and the so-called woman were allowed in by the guard who thought they were visitors.
NMS, 36, assistant manager, Lebanese, called SAS who told her that he visited ‘M’ who refused to help him. After sometime, SAS called NMS and asked her to meet him to hand her over some material, but she refused. He repeated his phone calls and requests several times. As she refused, SAS made a friend in Egypt to call her.
“I received an overseas call and the caller told me that he has video and picture of ‘M’ and claimed that she should meet someone who owns a black Mercedes and that he has proof of his claims. And threatened that if ‘M’ wants the original copy of the proof, she should pay them $1 million... the caller said that he will send me sample of the pictures with SAS… I asked him to do that,” testified NMS.
Next day, SAS called NMS who asked him to come to the bank and hand her over the materials. “He actually, came and handed me over a flash memory and that was recorded in the Bank’s CCTV,” she testified.
NMS and ‘M” watched the recording which were real… ‘M’ been shot roaming in her house and in her bedroom….’M’ told her husband who lodge complaint with the police. From the mobile number, the police identified SAS and arrested him.
Confession
SAS confessed to the police that along with his Egyptian friend MBB both went to the house of the victim taking with him a video camera. He climbed the fence of the yard while MMB stayed in the car watching. As he does not know the utilities of the house he could not get to see the wife, SAS confessed to the police.
SAS repeated the attempt on different nights but each time he failed… he thought that MMB was not of a good luck for him, so he decided to replace him with his brother NAS… SAS managed to make the video of the victim for 19 minutes… roaming in the house and getting into her bed room, lying in her bed and reading a magazine.
SAS gave the recording to his brother who downloaded the material in his computer and added music to it… and copying it onto two flash memories and started blackmailing ‘M’, the court records showed.
