Acting on a tip-off about a jobless Emirati selling controlled drugs, police set out a trap to nab him.

He was found waiting in his car near a mosque at Al Safa.

On seeing the police vehicle, he sped away.

In his attempt to flee the accused even hit a police car.

However, the cops quickly overtook him and confiscated more than 5,000 Kemadrin tablets and 3,600 Tramadol tablets from his vehicle, First Lieutenant Ali Abbas testified in court.

The Prosecution also accused SHM, 26, of taking drugs and asked the court to apply stiffest penalty on him.

“In his house police seized more controlled drugs - 3,668 Tramadol tablets and 16,600 Kemadrin tablets. In total, cops confiscated 20,268 controlled tablets from his possession," Abbas added.

Corporal Obaid Juma repeated the same testimony.

The accused confessed that a Pakistani called Jamap who is currently in his home country called him and asked him to collect the tablets from Dibba.

The accused alleged that a month ago Jamal had called him and asked him to leave the Tramadol boxes at a old garage in Al Awir so that another person could collect it from there.
