A court in Ras Al Khaimah sentenced an Asian mobile phone dealer and an Arab woman to two months in prison after they were found guilty of publishing the pictures of an Asian woman on social networks without her consent.

Police arrested the dealer after the Asian woman reported that he downloaded all her private pictures from her mobile phone which he was repairing and passed them to the Arab woman, with whom she had already fallen out.

She said the Arab woman then publicized the pictures with the aim of defaming her, according to the Arabic language daily Albayan.

It said the court also fined the couple Dh1,000 and ordered them to pay lawyer’s fees.
