A man who stole nearly half kg of jewellery from an Emirati’s house in Fujairah confessed in court to the burglary and awaited the judge’s sentence with concern.

The unidentified man appeared more worried when he saw the theft victim entering court and heading towards the judge, but his concern instantly turned into a surprise.

“The Emirati asked the judge if he can talk to him.

“He then told the judge that he was forgiving the man and dropping the case,” Al Khaleej daily said.

“The defendant was very surprised by this noble act.

“He could not stop thanking God the Almighty and the Emirati man as his eyes started to show happiness and delight,” it added, without making clear if the thief was released or got a reduced sentence.
