Dead infant found buried in sand at Mamzar beach

An Asian man strolling along Mamzar beach in Dubai stumbled across a dead infant buried under the sand after he was apparently strangled by his mother.

The man phoned the police after noticing human hair oozing out of the sand that has cleared by tidal waves by time.

Police told the man to stay away from the body as they dispatched a team to pluck out the body, found to be for a baby boy aged between 30 and 40 days.

“A source at the forensic laboratory in Dubai said the baby appeared to have been strangled by the mother following an illicit relationship,” Al Bayan daily said.

It quoted the source as saying the infant, with Asian complexions, had been buried nearly 48 hours before he was found wrapped by a white piece of cloth. The source added that forensic experts were testing the body’s DNA for identification of parents.
