A jobless Arab and a school boy loitering on a Dubai street late night decided to target an Asian construction worker to feed their empty pockets although they had apparently known he did not look like a person who has much money.
Posing as detectives, the jobless man asked the worker for his ID, which he instantly handed over. He then told him to give him his purse, which he also gave.
“The Arab man took the only Dh50 from the purse and then both of them knocked the worker down. The Arab schoolboy then pulled a knife and snatched the worker’s mobile phone,’ Arabic language daily Al Bayan said.
“The worker was just walking back home in Satwa after midnight when he was intercepted by the two.
“They clearly had not realised such an act would land both of them in jail and lead to their deportation from the UAE.”
