Sharjah police arrested a Pakistani man after he tried to smuggle 100 capsules of heroin by hiding them inside his stomach.
Customs men at the airport in the emirate suspected the man as he arrived from the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar on June 13 and decided to search him.
After scanning images showed he had concealed capsules inside his stomach, he was taken to Al Qassimi Hospital to have them discharged.
“In court, he confessed that he brought the heroin to deliver it to some people in the UAE. The court then decided to adjourn hearings to next month,” the Arabic language daily 'Emarat Al Youm' said.
