Drug peddler caught with 36,500 pills

An Asian suspect was caught attempting to sell tablets comprising narcotic substance in Sharjah.

The Anti-Narcotics Department of Sharjah Police on Thursday, acting upon a reliable tip-off, arrested a Pakistani national while he was trying sell some tablets.

About 36,500 pills were confiscated from his possession.

He was arrested red-handed from his apartment in  Al Majjarah area.

The confiscated drugs were all well-packed and ready for distribution.

He has confessed to the crime to police and is now referred to Public Prosecution.

A Sharjah Police official said the pills if used by youth can lead to addiction.
