Dubai Police busted a drug-smuggling gang and confiscated about 3.6kg of heroin.
On receiving a reliable tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Department officials of Dubai Police, monitored a truck parked near a showroom in Al Aweer on Sunday.
After sometime they saw man breaking a window and getting inside the truck. They immediately nabbed him and discovered two plastic bags comprising 3.68kg of heroin from underneath the driver's seat.
The 26-year-old Arab suspect led the police to his accomplice, who was arrested with the help of Sharjah Police. The 25-year-old second accused, also an Arab, confessed that they worked for a person who lived outside the UAE.
The second accused said he received instructions from the person abroad to collect the substane from the specific truck. But because he was afraid he entrusted the job to the first accused.
The truck driver, who has a previous record of being involved in illegal activities is also arrested.
All three have been referred to Public Prosecution.
