Drunk slits throat of friend in Sharjah

A drunk Asian man waited for his work mate to go to bed in his room in Sharjah, brought a knife and slit his throat before attacking another friend living in the same room.

A witness who shares their room told court that he was jolted out of bed by the killer screaming loudly as he brought down the knife on his friend’s neck. He then chased another worker and stabbed him in the face.

The witness said the worker with the slit neck died before reaching hospital while the other victim suffered from face injuries.

“He was screaming as he started to slaughter the victim while asleep. I saw him with my own eyes and I saw blood all over,” the witness said.

The defendant told court that he attacked his roommate in self defence and that he needs at least two months to talk to the victim’s relatives for a possible payment of diya (blood money).
