Dubai Police has arrested two Asians for smuggling drugs into the UAE by concealing them in laptop computers and trying to sell them in the emirate’s Satwa area.

After getting a tip off that a man is looking for drug buyers, a policeman approached him pretending to be a potential buyer.

Two men, AHB and MAK, were caught red handed as they were handing over the drug to the undercover policeman. However, they were allowed to return to their home in Bur Dubai.

After obtaining the public prosecutor’s permission, the police raided their house at which 1070 grammes of heroin was found concealed in two laptop computers.

AHB and MAK admitted that that they obtained the heroin from a drug dealer in Pakistan. They said they had received part of  the price in advance and that it was agreed that they would get the balance after the heroin is sold.

They also admitted they had smuggled drugs twice to neighbouring countries of the UAE but they were bringing in the drug into UAE for the first time.

The two were referred to the public prosecution on two charges of smuggling in and possession of narcotic substance with the aim of selling in the UAE.
