Dubai Police have arrested three Asians for forging the UAE residency visa in order to apply for a Schengen Visa.

Major-General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, said the Department of Anti-Economic Crimes, received a report from the French Consulate after officials suspected the residency visa belonging to an Asian man.

He added that the Dubai Police formed a squad to follow up the alleged residence visa reported to have been issued by the Directorate General for Residency and Foreigners Affairs. Major General Al Mansouri said the residence visa was fake.

Colonel Salah Bu Osaiba, Director of the Department of Anti-Economic Crimes at Dubai Police, explained that the first and second suspects came to the office in order to receive the visa. The Dubai Police nabbed them.

"The second suspect confessed that he was working for the third suspect and that the residency visa was fake. We went to his flat and arrested the third suspect. We found two computers and a memory card used for the forgery," Col Bu Osaiba added.

All three men have been referred to the public prosecution.
