Dubai visitor accused of forging entry and exit dates on passport

A Tajik visitor was shocked to know that her passport carried two partially forged entries and exit stamps of Dubai International Airport while leaving the country, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On November 2015, MD, 25, headed to Dubai International Airport to leave the country.

However, as she headed to the status office in the airport and asked the officer on duty that she needs to check her visa’s information.

The records did not mention why she needed to do that.

The officer asked for her passport and she handed it to him.

Upon checking the passport, he found out that the ink of the dates of former entry and exit stamps was not genuine.

Checking on the dates of the two stamps in the system he found out that the issue dates on one of the stamps was Jan 21, 2015 instead of Jan 29, 2015 on the passport.

Similarly, he found out that the other stamp in the system was for Jan 14, 2015 instead of Jan 25, 2015 on the passport.

The passenger told the officer that she had never seen such stamps on her passport and that she had nothing to do with the forgery.

Criminal evidences reported that the passport and the entry and exit stamps were genuine; however, the dates on them were forged.

MD, is accused of forging and using forged government stamp with her knowledge of forgery. The Dubai Prosecution asked the court to award stiff penalty against the accused who denied the accusation.

The court will announce the sentence on March 16.
