Dubai visitor's intestines had 1kg of heroin

Customs inspectors at Dubai International Airport (DIA) have foiled a bid to smuggle 133 capsules of heroin, weighing more than 1 kg, concealed in the intestines of a traveller coming into the country from an Asian country through Terminal 2.
Ali Al Maghawi, Director of Airports Operations Department at Dubai Customs, said customs inspectors suspected an incoming passenger who appeared to be hesitant and confused.
Nothing suspicious was found in his baggage after scanning. He was then asked to go through the body scanner and something suspicious was detected in his intenstines.
When questioned, the passenger confessed that they were capsules containing a narcotic substance. He said he had received them from someone at the departure airport where he swallowed the capsules. He was to hand them over to a person living in Dubai in exchange of a sum of money.
During interrogation, he released 38 capsules on his own, which were later revealed to contain heroin and weighed 275.6 grammes.
Later, the passenger was taken to the hospital, where he released the remaining capsules at several intervals. He had 95 more capsules with 782.4 grammes of heroin in his interestines.
