European jailed 4 years for drugs in Abu Dhabi

An Abu Dhabi court sentenced a European man to four years in prison and ordered his deportation from the UAE after he was convicted of brining drugs into the country.

The unnamed man was sentenced by a court of appeals, which upheld a previous court verdict against the defendant.

Newspapers said the man had been charged of bringing opium seeds into Abu Dhabi but had no intention to trade in the stuff.
