Three expatriates have been arrested for allegedly possessing forged Indian rupees worth 564,000. They were held when attempting to exchange Rs14,000.
The Prosecution accused HKF, 37, Pakistani mechanic; JFA, 26, Indian cook; and YJ, 28, Nepali cleaner for possessing forged Indian Rupees for promotion.
According to the records, on June 15 at around 10.30am visited Al Fuad Exchange in Al Riqqa street wanting to exchange Rs14,000 with US dollars.
The Cashier Abuslai Mohammed, 28, Bangladeshi, suspected the authenticity of the currency and informed his senior.
After checking the notes they notified the police.The Forensic reported that the notes were forged and that it is difficult for an ordinary person to discover the forgery.
Police confiscated Rs564,000 from their accommodation.
