Family jailed for life on vice charges in RAK

A court in Ras Al Khaimah sentenced an Arab man, his wife and two sons to life in prison after they were convicted of forcing their three daughters to practice prostitution.

Three girls arrested by the police in a night raid at the family’s house were found to be victims and acquitted by the court.

Police arrested the four family members on charges of organizing booze parties and forcing their own daughters and a daughter in law to indulge in prostitution for money, according to the Arabic language daily Alittihad.

"The four were sentenced to life in prison on charges of involvement in human trade and prostitution," it said.

Drunk man waves for cops in Kuwait

A 32-year-old Indian man who had a large amount of liquor was so tired and drunk that he decided to sleep on the pavement in the middle of night.

When he saw two men walking on the other side, he waved for them. As they came close, they turned out to be police men.

“He greeted them and they arrested him…they took him to the hospital after he appeared to have consumed a large amount of liquor,” Alwatan daily said.

Emirati commits suicide in Sharjah

The security teams rushed to Al Sour Al Gharbi area in Kalba where the man resided and the dead body was sent to the forensic department for autopsy.

12 sheep, 2 camels killed in Saudi lightning



Lighting killed 12 sheep and two camels at a Saudi farm while their shepherd fell unconscious for several hours after he was also struck.

The expatriate shepherd was with the sheep and two camels near the farm in the central town of Rimah when the bolt struck them.

“12 of my sheep and two camels were killed while my shepherd fell unconscious for several hours before he was revived at hospital,” farmer Saad al Subaei told Sabq daily.
